Nunami Sculthorpe-Green is a Palawa and Warlpiri woman with cultural and familiar ties to both Northeast Tasmania and the Tanami Desert.

Nunami is a storyteller, writer and visual artist. She is interested seasonality and is passionate about cultural revitalisation and Palawa perspectives of place. Her work often examines the layered and overlooked histories of landscapes.

As an artist, Nunami has had work commissioned and exhibited by the National Gallery of Victoria, Contemporary Art Tasmania, MONA, and Ten Days on the Island Festival among others.

In 2025, Nunami was the recipient of the Tasmanian Literary Awards Aboriginal Writers Fellowship and was announced as the Contemporary Arts Tasmania Shotgun development program recipient.

Nunami holds a BA in History and Legal Studies from the University of Tasmania, graduating in 2019 and completed the Associate Fire Practitioner Training Program through the National Firesticks Alliance in 2025.

As the founder of Blak Led Tours Tasmania, Nunami offered Aboriginal history and cultural tours around Nipaluna/Hobart. Since launching Blak Led Tours in 2022 Nunami has undertaken contracts for experience and interpretation development across the island. Blak Led Tours was featured on: NITV’s ‘Going Places with Ernie Dingo; SBS’s ‘Great Australian Walks’; ABC’s ‘Stuff the British Stole’; TVNZ Breakfast program; Australian Traveller; the Sydney Morning Herald; Conde Nast, ABC and SBS online; profiled in the Koori Mail and featured in the Lonely Planet “Tasmania” guide book.

Nunami received a Special Achievement award for her work in Truth Telling at the Tasmanian NAIDOC awards and also was named the Tourism Ministers’ Young Achiever in 2022.

As an active and involved member of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community since her birth, Nunami has been chosen to represent her community at the state, national and international level. She is the youngest Palawa person ever selected to repatriate ancestral remains and for this was selected as Young Tasmanian Aboriginal of the year in 2015 at the Tasmanian NAIDOC Awards.

In 2024 Nunami was selected as part of the Palawa community treaty delegation. Nunami is currently the Tourism and Cultural Development Officer at the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre and represents Tasmania as part of the national First Nations Visitor Economy Partnership.
